BRIDGEVIEW BANK - UPTOWN

STUDIO : MACONDO
YEAR : 2005
STATUS : COMPLETED

PROGRAM :

The dynamics of the urban setting in the Uptown theatre district where this Art Deco building is located was the driving force to creating an Architecture of Display. Taking a modern approach to design created a striking contrast in the predominantly ArtDeco surrounding thereby projecting a new identity for the Bank, while still celebrating its vast history.
An egalitarian approach to design creates a single space with multiple qualities and multiple functions with Teller Stations, Personal Bankers, Waiting lounge, 24 hour ATM Lobby and connection to Starbuck’s café, all of which seen not as a series of rooms, but as a seamless space during Banking hours. After Banking hours, the space is segregated and the ATM lobby transforms into a dynamic environment, where the night time glass partition wall turns into a projection screen. Cameras capture onlookers into the public realm and projects those images onto the projection screen, seamlessly alternating with the Marketing information for the Bank.
